Buena Vista is a town located in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado, United States. The elevation of Buena Vista is 7,965 feet (2,428 meters) above sea level. This makes it one of the higher elevation towns in the United States. The surrounding terrain is mountainous and rugged, with the peaks of the Collegiate Peaks rising to over 14,000 feet (4,267 meters) to the west. The high elevation of Buena Vista results in a cool and dry climate with low humidity, making it a popular destination for outdoor recreation such as hiking and skiing.
